Designer Karl Lagerfeld, of Chanel fame, is selling this adorable, A-line dress under his own label. Back in 2012, Lagerfeld launched his own line to serve the middle market. Basically, it’s an affordable womenswear label. (Karl told WWD his collection would be “ageless”.) This dress, which retails for $148 on his website, has that girly feel but still appears timeless. Doesn’t this have that classy Chanel vibe? Love!
Everything Romain Laurent touches is gold. His One Loop Portraits series, which he started back in 2013, is no different. Each gif is just hypnotizing.
Inspired by clear night skies, this Galaxy print, by Brainstorm is just breathtaking. Enjoy it from far away and then look a little closer to see all the colors in the details. Just scooped mine up at Colossal’s art shop.
I like this new print that Icy & Sot created to aid the programs in Haiti and Braddock, Pennsylvania. The Iranian brothers wanted to challenge conventions with this personal and political statement. A woman is covered with a hijab, but instead of hiding her, it’s calling attention to her, with the help of spring flowers. Called Unforced Hijab, this is a limited edition print (to 250) that’s 13 x 19 inches. It makes you think.
Icy & Sot: “Unforced Hijab depicts that the Hijab can be a beautiful thing for someone if it’s not forced.”
Logan got super sick last night, he spiked a 102.3 fever and he has a bad sore throat so I’m going to be staying at home with him for the next few days. No posts from me until Monday. This week, I’ve been collecting a few fun links though, so I thought I’d share them with you.
It’s been a little while since I recommended a book. (Sorry, been spending my nights catching up with the Fast and Furious series. #5 was awesome!) A few months ago, my sister suggested that I listen to The Moth podcast. I, not really being a podcast type, (well, that’s not entirely true, I did listen to almost all of the How I Built This series), was happy to find out that they had a book. Yay! Time to read on the Kindle.
The book, called The Moth Presents All These Wonders: True Stories About Facing the Unknown, takes the best out of the 20,000+ stories ever performed in Moth shows around the world and adapts them for readers. OMG! This book is gripping! For those of you have slight ADD (ok, raise your hand, don’t be shy), it’s an easy read because each chapter is super short, I’m talking about 10 minutes of reading time tops.
There’s one story about an Afghanistan family that just floored me. What’s best about the stories is that they’re told from the heart. These people lay out their craziest, most fascinating moments in their lives and you can’t help but feel like you’re standing in their shoes.
So read this book! It’ll change your life or at least the way you look at the world.
From the Moth website:
“All These Wonders features voices both familiar and new. Storytellers include Louis C.K., Tig Notaro, John Turturro, and Meg Wolitzer, as well as a hip hop “one hit wonder,” an astronomer gazing at the surface of Pluto for the first time, and a young female spy risking everything as part of Churchill’s “secret army” during World War II. They share their ventures into uncharted territory—and how their lives were changed forever by what they found there.
These true stories have been carefully selected and adapted to the page by our creative team, and encompass the very best of the 20,000+ stories performed in live Moth shows around the world. These tales will make a great gift for story lovers everywhere.

“Honesty matters. Vulnerability matters. Being open about who you were at a moment in time when you were in a difficult or an impossible place matters more than anything.”
– Neil Gaiman, from his introduction to All These Wonders
Every time I want to spice things up a bit, I buy a temporary tattoo over at Tattly. They just came out with a beautiful watercolor set of flowers. I’m tempted to scoop them up.
From Tattly: “Our first collaboration with Helen Dealtry is this watercolor beauty comprised of four floral arrangements, including Purple Orchid, Blue Orchid, Festive Floral, and Vibrant Rose. Each Set includes two of each design and upon wearing them, you’ll immediately feel the floral immersion.”
Can you believe that Coachella is this Friday? Festival season is here! I went to Coachella a few years ago and it was amazing. I won’t be attending this year but I will be checking out all of the fun fashion from those attending on Instagram. After reading the NY Times article about how stores create “festival season” attire, I thought I would round up 12 outfits I think are “Coachella”-worthy.
“It’s become the new cruise,” said Marybeth Schmitt, the H & M communications director for North America about festival wear. “It sets up a fantasy, a younger person’s vision of a holiday that’s set not in the tropics but the desert.”
Net-A-Porter has a “go boho” page where they show embroidery, tassels, and artful prints.
Here are some of my favorite outfits.
Above: Saylor has created an embroidered maxi dress with beautiful colors on top and an ivory colored skirt on bottom. It’s so pretty!
This kimono from Mes Demoiselles has a really interesting print. It’s definitely a statement piece that can be worn over a simple white-t and paired with classic jean shorts.
H&M paired a silver top with a long flowing pink skirt. You can see shorts underneath. With sneakers this outfit screams cool.
