Lately, I’ve been noticing a swimsuit trend. Long gone are the boring Speedos, these days designers are creating really cool, artistic swimwear. In particular, I like how they’re cutting out certain parts of a swimsuit to show off a bit of skin. While some are a bit subtle, like Carmen Marc Valvo’s black back number, others are absolutely mesmerizingly. They make you want to stare!
I’m loving everything about this living room! We’ll be moving in the next few month to Orange Country and these pictures give me inspiration on how I’d like to decorate the new home. I’m not sure if it’s a bit too girly, perhaps, it’s better suited for an office?
In these pictures, from West Elm, stylist Francie Flynn helped furnish a vintage inspired Palm Springs rental property using West Elm’s staple mid-century inspired furniture pieces with the main focus being pops of pink in varying tones. The artwork is cool, too.
This season, I’m all about statement jewelry. I came across this pair, by Gucci, and loved everything about it. The rainbow crystals and the gold star at the neck make this fun and chic. Again, pricey, but very cool.
The crossbody bag is hot this spring but this one, by Chloe, is my favorite. It has a bracelet! You can wear it in three ways; on your shoulder, crossbody or carry by hand. I love it in “intense red”. Pricey but classic.
Lately, I’ve been seeing this trend: statement jewelry. Forget the dainty earrings, go for something bold. I love jewelry with a lot of pizzazz, so today, I’m picking out 10 pieces I’d love to scoop up myself. Best thing about statement jewelry is that you can keep the rest of your outfit minimal, you just let the jewelry do all the talking.
Mother’s Day is right around the corner so I thought I would dedicate this post to finding the perfect gift. There are tons of online shops that offer fashionable pieces like statement jewelry or cute purses. If you’re a hip mom, you’ll want to pass this list along to your husband and kids as a “hint hint”. Here are 12 things that I’ve collected.
Lightning Studds by Baublebar $34
Have you heard of Baublebar? I found them through Instagram. The company creates fashionable jewelry that’s fair priced. If you’re into pom poms or tassels, this site’s for you.
Tall Leather Tote by Cuyana $175
Love this classic tote purse. It’s simple, modern and clean. Large enough to hold all of your stuff, it’s a true keeper.
Heart Silhouette Ring at Adornmilk $48
What girl or woman doesn’t love hearts? This modern piece of jewelry can be found at Adornmilk, sister site to the hugely popular design blog Designmilk.
Gemini Link Tote by Tory Burch at Bloomingdales $195
Every woman can appreciate a well made bag. This stylish tote is something that will go well with everything. The new ivory Gemini link stripe/gold one is my favorite.
Loving this jean jacket by Russian designer Katya Dobryakova. Embroidered on the back of the jacket is a portrait of artist Frida Pinto. What great, vibrant colors. Read the inspiring interview between website Coveteur and fashion designer Dobryakova, here.
Designer Karl Lagerfeld, of Chanel fame, is selling this adorable, A-line dress under his own label. Back in 2012, Lagerfeld launched his own line to serve the middle market. Basically, it’s an affordable womenswear label. (Karl told WWD his collection would be “ageless”.) This dress, which retails for $148 on his website, has that girly feel but still appears timeless. Doesn’t this have that classy Chanel vibe? Love!
Can you believe that Coachella is this Friday? Festival season is here! I went to Coachella a few years ago and it was amazing. I won’t be attending this year but I will be checking out all of the fun fashion from those attending on Instagram. After reading the NY Times article about how stores create “festival season” attire, I thought I would round up 12 outfits I think are “Coachella”-worthy.
“It’s become the new cruise,” said Marybeth Schmitt, the H & M communications director for North America about festival wear. “It sets up a fantasy, a younger person’s vision of a holiday that’s set not in the tropics but the desert.”
Net-A-Porter has a “go boho” page where they show embroidery, tassels, and artful prints.
Here are some of my favorite outfits.
Above: Saylor has created an embroidered maxi dress with beautiful colors on top and an ivory colored skirt on bottom. It’s so pretty!
This kimono from Mes Demoiselles has a really interesting print. It’s definitely a statement piece that can be worn over a simple white-t and paired with classic jean shorts.
H&M paired a silver top with a long flowing pink skirt. You can see shorts underneath. With sneakers this outfit screams cool.
Excuse my slight obsession with this rainbow colored linen dress by Mara Hoffman. I first spotted it on Vogue.com about a week ago and then it just happened to pop up on my radar again. Anthropologie is now selling this gorgeous dress along with several other pieces from the designer. I love how it is asymmetrical, how it only bares one shoulder and how you can pair it with any color accessory or shoe. It’s a beauty.
